Maps: Panama Maps
From connectivity and transportation to medical, banking and real estate, Panama offers an abundance of modern services.
There are direct flights to Panama's Tocumen International Airport from Europe and seven cities in the United States. Panama’s domestic airport is in Albrook, about 15 minutes from downtown Panama City and round trip flights within Panama are priced between US $60 and $180 (Panamanian currency is the US dollar). Most cruise lines offer cruises that visit the Panama Canal.
The country delivers further connectivity through a modern telecommunications network offering telephone, cellular and Internet services, as well as cable television. Panama uses a voltage standard of 110 AC – the same as in the United States and Canada. Panama City has pure potable water that can be enjoyed straight from the tap. In very rural areas, it’s best to drink bottled water.
In the unlikely event that you get sick while in Panama, you can expect quality medical treatment at a very reasonable cost. Many Panamanian doctors are trained in the United States and the standards of the top hospitals compare to those of the United States.
