Curacao Walking Tour
From connectivity and transportation to medical and banking, Curaçao offers an abundance of modern services.
Major airlines offer nonstop and connecting service to the Curaçao International Airport from Europe, North and South America. The island has two main docking spots for major cruise lines. The Curaçao Mega Pier in West Willemstad accommodates large ships that are unable to fit under the city’s famed Queen Juliana Bridge. Smaller ships dock at the Curaçao Cruise Terminal just a few minutes walk from downtown and the city’s main shopping and business areas. Transportation on Curaçao is provided by buses, mini-buses, taxis and ferries. Taxis do not have meters installed but the prices are fixed.
The island delivers further connectivity through a modern telecommunications network offering telephone, cellular and Internet services, as well as cable television. Electricity is 110-130 VAC at 50 cycles. Most North American appliances will work well, except for electrical devices with internal time mechanisms. Europeans should use multipurpose transformers made for this current.
Home to the world’s second-largest desalination plant, Curaçao provides pure and refreshing drinking water straight from the tap.
