Maps: Bonaire Island Map | Bonaire City Map
From connectivity and transportation to medical and banking, Bonaire offers an abundance of modern services.
A number of international airlines fly to Bonaire’s Flamingo International Airport located only five minutes from the capital city of Kralendijk. There is one-stop service from numerous points in the United States and nonstop service from Europe as well as from Ecuador and Peru. Bonaire is also a favorite port of large cruise lines and smaller ships, though there is no ferry service between Bonaire and Aruba, Venezuela or Curaçao.
Bonaire has the 60-bed Hospitaal San Francisco with quality doctors, an ambulance plane on call for emergencies and a hyperbaric recompression chamber run by a highly-trained staff.
Bonaire uses a 127/120 volts 50 AC system and most North American appliances will work on the island – though slowly and they may overheat. Converters are available in most hotels.
More than just safe to drink, Bonaire’s seawater is distilled and purified to become one of the purest tap waters in the world.
